The old logo was the only brand element of MARTECMA when we took over. We aimed to preserve its essence and provide continuity, recognizing the value it represented. The idea was straightforward: we kept the propeller as the core element, symbolizing the association’s field of expertise. We researched actual technical documents and even produced 3D and CAD drafts in order to accurately portray the design principles.

MARTECMA is largely comprised of engineers, and we wanted to honor their craft. We also incorporated a vortex -inspired by the old logo and the subject matter- reinterpreted here as a purer, more mathematical curve.

The result is a brand identity system that is instantly recognizable, clear, and adaptable to any possible application.

The most visible element of the association is its website. It provides information for members and interested parties, as well as news, resources for shipping professionals, and an extensive events calendar.

In addition to the public website, there is also a forum, which serves as the main tool for member interaction, along with other systems such as administrative applications, newsletter service integrations, and more.

The forum is the primary platform for members and has been continuously active for many years. We modernized it and upgraded the software to a current platform, future-proofing its valuable content and making it easier for members to use.

We also created a comprehensive member management suite that not only equips the administration with the necessary tools, but also provides members with a wealth of valuable information through a clear and easy-to-use interface.

These are some samples from the various applications of the brand we designed. The logo is instantly recognizable without being imposing or distracting, and it consistently conveys a subtle reference to the association’s naval engineering focus. Among its uses, it can also be adapted as a pattern or icon, one example is the tie design visible below.

The events page features a custom calendar view, allowing visitors to easily grasp each event’s type, position in the timeline, organizers, and theme.
